step one complete

i have been sooo busy trying to get a new page up for my website. for the last couple of days i have been furiously posting pics on photo pages trying to get some feedback. first site, flickr.com - not much luck. i stumbled upon a wonderful site that actually rewards people in their "rankings" for both posting pics and posting comments on other photos. it is a pay site, and it does limit posts to 2 per day, but i really have to say its my very favorite so far. i will post a link later.

thanks to nikki, i also signed up with smugmug.com..i finally had my front page done yesterday and just couldnt get a decent, easy to use, album. soooo annoying. every program that i have requires me to already have a seperate folder with what i want in the album by itself. i couldnt drag and drop from here and there (different folders). mind you i spent about 4 hours last week tagging over 3,200 photos in adobe organizer... now i will have to bite the bullet and do the same for my desktop folder local photos.

i had broken down and purchased a few trade directories for photo sales and was all ready to start sending off a portfolio with samples, but they very strongly suggest having catalogues ready first. that way, if a co asks for 20 more of the same type photo you have them ready. the market is competitive and they won't wait for you :) i guess carpel tunnel is in my future LOL.

luckily it has been slow at work and i've been able to come home early the last few nights on unpaid time, so i will cross my fingers for the same tonight. i am on the "supervisor line" this week, which i do enjoy. i actually get the time to help customers through contact with other departments. usually i have to send an email off to a pool for callback, and have this sinking feeling it won't happen. at least doing everything myself feels better. they are not always happy with me, but they get an answer. this is the only satisfaction i get from my job, so this week is a real treat.

well i am off to post and comment a bit. i have to cut myself off at a certain time (i could do this all day). the house is suffering terribly. i have mounds of stuff to shred (mail) and clean clothes to put away. kitchen floor needs a good mopping as well. ah yes, lastly i will have the pleasure saturday, of exchanging a door at home depot. apparently "universal" doesn't apply to screen door replacements. how much fun it will be to fit that in the element and lug it to the customer service counter. maybe someone will actually help me get the right one this time. dave and i will have to perform a screen door funeral this weekend if all goes well :)

hmmm, 10:30am...do i want to go in early at 1pm or play on my computer till 2pm... oh the decisions. hope everyone has a wonderful day!
